Caden Trahan / Charlotte, NC

Hi, I’m Caden. I work at CED as a Survey/Geospatial CADD Operator in the Charlotte area, and I study Civil Engineering Technology–Geomatics at Central Piedmont. Most days put me somewhere between Civil 3D, Bluebeam, Trimble Business Center, Excel, field information, and a deadline.

I work on utility and BMP as-builts, construction stakeout packages, ROW and easement mapping, deed research, terrain surfaces, and contours. I like the heavier drafting tasks—the point where several records, drawings, and field observations have to become one clear answer that another person can rely on.

I’m working toward Professional Land Surveyor licensure in North Carolina and continuing through the Certified Survey Technician levels. I am also completing the education I will need to pursue Professional Engineer licensure. Long term, I want the responsibility that comes with understanding both the survey evidence and the civil system it supports.

Music taught me what that responsibility feels like in real time. As a percussionist, flutist, arranger, and technical leader, I have learned to prepare the details before anyone sees them, listen outside my own part, and stay useful when something goes wrong.

I care about doing work I can stand behind and becoming someone people trust with the difficult part. This site is a record of the projects, skills, and decisions moving me in that direction.
